This Greek-inspired recipe pairs fresh ingredients with marinated ones for a flavor that is bright, loud and perfect. I also whip up a vegan tzatziki that is spot on in texture and taste.

Greek Dip Ingredients

This fun dip has a few different elements because you really want to lock in a unique and big flavor in your layered dip. I use a mix of homemade and store bought ingredients to bring this recipe to life, and it really is easy to put them all together.

  • Hummus: Homemade or store bought, look for one with real, simple ingredients for the best taste.
  • Dairy-free tzatziki sauce: My recipe is super simple to make and truly has the right flavor + texture.
  • Cherry tomatoes: Cherry or grape tomatoes in vibrant colors are perfect, fresh additions.
  • Marinated artichoke hearts: Leave them whole or chop them up before adding… they are great!
  • Kalamata olives: I love olives, and Kalamata olives are just as easy to snack on by themselves or chop up and sprinkle over this dip.
  • Vegan feta: I was shocked at how spot on the texture and flavor is in vegan feta. My go-to brand is Violife and I find it at my local grocery store.
  • Red onion: The fresh bite of red onions (and the color!) are quite lovely in this dish.
  • Fresh parsley: Use just the leaves for a fresh herbal addition.
  • Toasted pine nuts: Pine nuts add a bit of crunch and a toasted nuttiness that blends well with the marinated veggies.

Swaps for Layered Dip

If dairy doesn’t cause you inflammation, digestive issues or fatigue, then feel free to use regular tzatziki sauce and regular feta. You can also use store-bought or homemade hummus, your preference!

Red onions provide the best flavor for this dip yet you can use white onions if red ones are hard to find. If pine nuts aren’t available then swap with roasted cashews, macadamia nuts or slivered almonds.

While a standard hummus works fine in this Greek layered dip, you can spice things up a bit by using roasted red pepper hummus or the flavor of your choice. It works just as wonderfully in the final product.

Additional Topping Options

While there are cucumbers in the tzatziki sauce, you can also dice some up for the top of your dip. Feel free to use a variety of fresh herbs like mint or basil as well. Bell peppers are a crunchy addition that can add different colors as well.

Some people like to add a shredded leafy greens like lettuce or kale to the top of their Greek dip, just make sure you massage the kale to soften it a bit before sprinkling on top.

How to Make Greek Layered Dip

I can’t wait to share this show-stopping recipe with you. It’s not hard to put together, even with the homemade tzatziki sauce! Make it the night before (just omit the fresh parsley) to let the flavors blend together before serving.

  1. Make the tzatziki sauce first by stirring the ingredients together in a medium bowl. Add salt to taste and let sit in the fridge until you’re ready to use. If you have a hard time finding plain coconut yogurt, feel free to use the dairy-free yogurt of your choice, or swap with full fat coconut milk (liquid + fat combined for a sauce-like consistency).
  2. Using a square container, spread the hummus over the whole bottom evenly. Layer with the tzatziki sauce then layer the remaining ingredients in the order listed. Make sure they are evenly distributed throughout the dish.
  3. Serve with carrots, pita chips, bell pepper sticks, cucumbers or any other veggie/cracker you want.

Greek Dip

Ingredients

For Tzatziki Sauce:

  • 1 cup coconut yogurt plain
  • ½ cucumber grated then squeezed or drained to remove the liquid
  • 1 tbsp green onion sliced
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • 1 garlic cloves minced
  • tsp sea salt to taste

For Dip:

  • 1 cup hummus
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes diced
  • ½ cup marinated artichoke hearts drained and chopped
  • ½ cup pitted Kalamata olives sliced
  • 1 cup vegan feta crumbled
  • ½ cup red onion diced
  • ½ cup fresh parsley stems removed and chopped
  • ½ cup raw pine nuts toasted

For serving:

  • carrots
  • bell peppers
  • pita chips
  • cucumbers

Instructions

  • Make tzatziki sauce: Stir ingredients together in a medium bowl. Add salt to taste. Store in air tight container in fridge until ready to use.
  • In a square container, spread the hummus over the entire bottom.
  • Layer tzatziki sauce and remaining ingredients evenly over one another, in the order listed.
  • Serve with the veggies and/or crackers of your choice.
